Matching Shirts

Nana used to dress my mommy and her sisters up in matching outfits, and mommy said she would never do that. Never say never mommy!

Where am I? Dad makes a good hiding spot.

More matching shirts.... this time with my cousins Kaden and Mateo. This picture was a lot harder for mom to take!

Kaden is wondering if I'm going to throw up on him.

Mommy said put your hands down... listen!

Mateo tells me it's OK.

I am hungry, please let's take this picture!

This is exhausting.

No more matching shirts for awhile mommy says. We'll see about that!

PS: Mommy did OK at work today. She said she thinks it was everyone thinking about her. And the big pile of work to catch up on.

Smile!

Guess who smiles now? Yep, it's me! I smiled last night at daddy when he was singing and then this morning I smiled at mom while we were getting ready. I think I might try to do it more because it seems to make mom and dad so happy and they will do all sorts of goofy things to try and get me to smile. I know mommy is trying to get a picture of me smiling, but for now here are some from yesterday.

I puked right after mommy took this picture - she says I must have inherited Nana's gag reflex, whatever that is!

Daycare

Today mommy and daddy took me to daycare. There is so much going on there! There's lots of kids that play and run and talk and look at me. It is way more action than when I'm at home snuggling with mommy. Mommy isn't at work today; she said we are "practicing daycare" so she can get used to it. She said she was going to miss me a lot and sure gave me lots of hugs before she left. Her and daddy have been holding me an awful lot tonight! Here is a picture of me bundled up to go to daycare, and with Jessie, the lady who watches me while mommy and daddy work. Mommy said she has to go back to work on Monday, and told me there is 71 days of daycare until summer when we get to hang out all day again.

Mom says I should let you know that I am feeling better. I still throw up when I cough really hard, but I get cleaned up right away! Dad held this funny mask to my face last night and mom did that to me yesterday too. They said it's supposed to help my cough, but I hate it!

Sick

I have to write for Beckett today because he is not feeling well. After throwing up twice yesterday and again early this morning (once on daddy, twice on me) and having a cough for nearly 2 weeks, I took him to the doctor. He has a bacterial infection and is on antibiotics. I'm having him rest up and try to keep something down so he can feel better. I'm hoping the antiobiotics help with his cough - he is not getting restful sleep because of it. I thought breastfed babies were supposed to have a boosted immunity??

Anyway, we are bummed because we were supposed to go to school today to see our friends and have a shower for Beckett. It's going to take awhile for me to get used to plans not always going the way I expect them too! Here is a picture of me and Beckett when he was feeling better (look at my little baby hold his head up!)

Love, Beckett's mommy

PS: At today's appointment, Beckett weighed 13 pounds, 11 ounces. He is obviously having no problem eating and if the throwing up results in a little weight loss, I don't think he'll suffer!

A Day in the Life

Dad stopped home from work one afternoon to say hi to mommy and me, and this is what we were doing.... it's not the most exciting video, but mommy and I are really good sleepers, aren't we?! And see that swaddle blanket? It helps me sleep longer because I'm not waving my arms around all over like I usually do. Last night I slept the whole night again! Mommy woke me up at 7:15. I can tell her and dad are trying not to get too excited just in case it's not a habit.

Catch Up!

Mom hasn't given me time to update my blog, but since it's snowing outside today and we're at home I can let you know what I did last week.

On Tuesday I went to school! First, mommy and I had lunch with her teacher friends, and then she brought me to a bunch of classrooms and introduced me to kids. Everyone stared at me, and I stared back. One little boy asked why I didn't have any teeth. Mom said I drink milk so I didn't need teeth yet. Then the little boy asked "is it milk from a cow?" and mommy must not have heard him because she didn't answer his question.

Aunt Rissa came over Wednesday night to watch Project Runway with mom. They laugh and laugh when they watch it, but Aunt Rissa always finds time to hold me and snuggle.

Also last week I had another playdate! This time it was with my friend Amelia. You should see her hold her head up and smile. Mommy is very anxious for me to start smiling. She keeps staring at me and smiles... she'll just have to be patient, because right now I only smile when I'm dreaming of eating. Here is a picture of me and Amelia - it wasn't from our playdate, but another time when our parents watched football.

And speaking of football, last night daddy and I were not happy when the Packers lost. I even had my special onesie on, but it didn't help.

I saw lots of people this weekend. Mom's friends Joy and Chris came to visit. I snuggled with both of them, and they are going to make good parents some day. Because mom and dad had friends over I got to have another sleepover with Nana, Kaden, Mateo and my great aunt Glenda. We had a good time again!

And guess what? Last night, dad put me in bed at 10, and I didn't wake up again until 5:45! Mommy and daddy were so happy - I might have to try that again!

My First Date

I had my first play date! This is my friend Mia, and she is 9 days younger than me. As you can see, both of us were exhausted when it was time to go home. And guess what? Mia doesn't mind that I'm losing all of my hair! YYYY

And speaking of losing things, mommy has lost her voice. Boy, it sure is quiet around the house during the day. I'm used to her telling me all sorts of things and keeping me awake when I'm feeding. Guess I'll have to listen to daddy for awhile!

My Mom and Dad

My great god-mother Pam said I looked like mommy in my picture. Here are pictures of my mom and dad when they were babies. Mommy already had them scanned because she has a picture of all my family when they were babies in my room. She said "thank goodness for that nesting stage where I actually got things done!"

I think I got the best of both of them!

One Month Old

Can you believe I'm a month old already?? Neither can mom or dad. Mom was watching Martha Stewart and got a good idea from her show. Mommy went out and got a 12 month size onesie and is going to take my picture in it every month until I turn one so we can see how much I've grown.

"OK mom, take the picture."

"Nooooo! Oh, you're not changing my diaper??"

"Maybe I can make a get away?"

"I surrender. Take the picture."

"This thing is not going to fit me when I'm one!!"

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Mom and dad are talking about losing weight in the new year, but my resolution is to eat more and pack on the pounds! I went to the doctor today and I weigh 11lb 6oz now... the doctor says I am a big boy.

I had my first sleepover on New Year's Eve. Nana came up and babysat me, Kaden and Mateo. Mom and dad went to a friend's house, but were home by 12:30 and excited to have a full night of rest. Of course they missed me! I was good for Nana - I only got up at 1 and 6.

I have lots of family that love me - mommy and daddy tell me how lucky I am all the time. Grandpa and Grandma have been over several times to babysit and I love cuddling with them. Grandpa talks a lot about how handsome the Paulson men are.

My cousin Brooklynn loves me very much. Cousin Kaden made this shirt for me.

I will post more pictures later. Mommy said she hasn't had time, but I'll keep asking her!
