Family Fun

Mommy said I better update my blog because I have lots to catch people up on! These past few days have been very busy with family stuff.

First, we had a birthday party for Kaden on Saturday. It looked like he had a bunch of fun presents and toys. We gave him some dress up clothes, and he liked the Ninja outfit so much he wouldn't take it off!

The birthday ninja and his hot lava volcanoe cake.

This past weekend was also the Paulson family reunion. The last one was 3 years ago because people come from California and Las Vegas. I met my second cousin Harley, who is 11 days older than me. She crawls all over the place and even tries to stand up! I also spent a lot of time outside playing with other kids and watched mommy and daddy play in the family softball game. I think both of them were sore the next day because they were grunting and moaning a lot.

This is me and Charlie. I'm the youngest Paulson and Charlie is the oldest. Mommy says we won't share how old Charlie is.

Lots of cousins! Alicia is holding me, and she offered to babysit me any time.

Sitting with Harley, but she doesn't sit still for long.

And after the reunion Brooklynn came to my house for a sleepover. She got to sleep in my new Winnie the Pooh tent.

I hope Brooklynn gets to stay again.

But wait, that's not all... yesterday my third tooth came in! It's another one on the bottom even though mommy thought my top ones would come in next. Pretty soon I'll be eating foods I can chew and I can't wait!!

I Love Books

Did you know that I love books? Whenever mommy puts some toys by me to play with, the first thing I grab is a book. My favorite books are Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and Happy Baby Colors.

"This is a good one too...."

Mommy thought I would have fun with those colorful bowls, but I wanted to read up on the color black.

"Mommy, can't you see I'm busy reading?"

Here I am reading about more colors. Mommy says it's easier to turn pages if I use two hands.

Mohawks and Butterflies

I went to the butterfly house yesterday. I had never been there, and neither had mommy. We went with Aunt Rissa, Kaden and Mateo. I got to wear my tank top, just like my cousins, and mommy put my hair in a mohawk too. I was looking all over the place because those butterflies were everywhere! But when I tried to grab them, they flew away.

Yippee for mohawks!

Mommy says you can see them better this way.

Those butterflies are faster than they look!

Brooklynn and Me

Yesterday grandma and grandpa came over and so did my cousin Brooklynn. I was so excited to see her I kept trying to give her hugs, and boy she smelled so good that I chomped on her shoulder a bit too!

Playing with grandma and Brooklynn.

This is one of the hugs I gave Brooklynn.

I don't know why everyone thought I was so funny!

Methusela ... Again

Mommy was digging through some old things yesterday and she found a picture of her sitting on Methusela. She looks pretty funny - her hair is short and she is wearing these funny red glasses!

There's mommy and Aunt Emma!

Methusela is really old!

Happy Birthday Kaden! He is five years old today. Mommy says we get to go to his party on Saturday. I love you Kaden!

Seven Months Old

Can you believe I'm seven months old already? Mommy weighed me today (with my diaper) and I weigh 20.4. She says I'm too wiggly to figure out how long I am. Maybe we can try that tonight with daddy's help.

Mommy also said I'm not cooperating as well for my onesie pictures, but I can't help it - I have places to go and toys to play with! Who wants to waste their time in this tight onesie?

But wait mom, my squeaky book is over there.

If I could just reach it.

Oh, no pictures please!

Oh, I'm in trouble, aren't I.

Fine, here's your picture!

Swimming Again

Happy 4th of July everyone! Mommy and I are visiting Nana and Papa this weekend and today I got to go swimming in my new pool. I really had a good time except for when I fell over reaching for a toy. That was scary, but mommy hugged me and then I decided it was OK to swim again.

Look, you can see my teeth finally!

I have a cool mohawk just like Kaden and Mateo.

Why can't I grab this?

All that swimming made me thirsty. Look Nana, you don't have to hold my bottle.

Papa and I go exploring.

It's been a big day for me. And 4 years ago this was a big day for mommy and daddy, because this was the day daddy asked mommy to marry him. Me and daddy are both glad she said yes!

Pit Stop with Nolan

Today I had a visit from my friend Nolan. He stopped by my house on his way to his grandpa and grandma's house. He was in the car for awhile, so I let him play with my toys and jump in my jumperoo. And he shared his toys too! I'm trying to talk mommy into getting me this cool remote he had.

And this time I didn't shriek at Nolan, but I couldn't help myself from touching his face. He touched mine too, so it's OK.

I'm telling him about my book.

Buddies!

Sleepover with Grandpa and Grandma

I got to stay overnight with Grandpa and Grandma last night! They figured mommy could catch up on her rest and of course they missed me. We played with toys, listened to music and had lots of fun. Grandma told mommy how well I slept and what a good boy I was. I think there will be more sleepovers in the future!

Me and grandpa are deep in thought.

Taking my morning snooze.
I'm getting really good at sleeping in pack and plays.
Since we were on the road on Sunday I didn't get to say Happy Birthday to Aunt Emma and Great Grandma Marilyn! They share their birthday. Happy Birthday to both of you, I love you!

Mr. Independent

I'm almost seven months old you know, so I'm starting to figure some things out for myself. While we were in Idaho I got a lot better at putting my Nuk back in.

Almost have it.

Well, OK, so it's upside down but I'm fine with that.

Then today I held my own bottle for the first time. Mommy seemed pretty excited and she said she is anxious to have her boobs and her hands free. Mommy!

Mmmmm, that's a good bottle.
